​Bring the joy of hobby horses to your school / club with Helen's fun and engaging activity sessions.  They are designed to promote both physical and emotional well-being in a playful and interactive way.  In addition, they encourage teamwork, communication and confidence building in a way that's sure to be a hit with children of all ages.

Through these sessions, participants can improve their coordination, balance, strength and memory as they ride and interact with their hobby horses over a course of showjumps.  The sessions also provide a space for creativity and imagination to flourish.  Children can explore their creative side through optional writing tasks.

Helen will lead the sessions, ensuring that everyone is engaged and having a great time while also promoting a positive mindset. 
Everything you need for your session is provided by Helen.  She will bring the jumps and a team of hobby horses.  All you need is a flat space for the session, such as a hall or playing field.  Hobby horse sessions will offer a fun and practical approach to learning about horse sports, promote physical activity and spark the imagination of young minds.

Sessions are available for pupils in Year 1+ and can be adapted to suit all abilities, from your young athletes in the making to the least active / confident pupils.  It's a truly inclusive sport, particularly well suited to those who enjoy independent activities rather than team games.

If you're looking for a way to offer your pupils a broader range of sports and activities, hobby horsing is perfect.  Sessions can be stand-alone or incorporated into a full day author visit where students can meet the custom made hobby horses of the characters from Helen's Amber's Pony Tales book series, based on her own ponies. 

In addition to introduction sessions, Helen can also run events for you, such as sports days, competitions, holiday club sessions or after school clubs. A package of sessions or a weekly club can include show jumping, dressage to music, mounted games and racing!

Year 5 from St Mary's RC Primary School in Harrington got to sample hobby horsing as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024.  The theme for the week was Movement: Moving More for Mental Health.

​Victoria Infant School had two full day hobby horse sessions for pupils in Years 1 and 2 as part of their summer sports week.  Miss Taylor said: 

"The children and staff in Year 2 absolutely loved the day!  Pupils thoroughly enjoyed their hobby horse sessions and learnt a lot about different techniques. It was great to see them cheering on their classmates and encouraging each other. The competition seemed to be an overall favourite as they got to show off their talents and new skills they learnt from Helen in the morning session.
