Amber's Pony Tales Book 1
Little Pearl

Picture
Amber's dream comes true when her parents buy Pearl - her favourite pony from her riding school. She can't believe her luck... until she meets Joanne and her fiery pony, Flash. Flash is an accomplished jumping pony, and Pearl, Amber soon discovers, isn't.

Amber begins to wish she could swap her hairy, stubborn pony for a sleek, elegant showjumper.

Can Pearl prove that she is a special pony in a different way and remind Amber about the qualities that made her love her in the first place?

"This was a lovely story, full of memories of growing up as a pony mad child, but with an important lesson for children to learn at the same time."
Ros Canter, World Champion Three Day Eventer

Little Pearl really did exist, as did all the ponies and horses in the series. She was Helen's first pony and their adventures together inspired her to create stories to share what she learned from their time together.  Pearl was a huge influence in Helen's life as a child: she taught her about commitment, perseverance and patience.  She was Helen's best friend and although she wouldn't always do what her rider wanted, Helen discovered that she could always trust the pony to look after her.  And of course, she showed Helen that ponies, like people, are individuals with their own personalities, strengths and weaknesses.
