Helen, AKA The Writer in Wellies, has a creative writing group called the Welly Wednesday Creative Writing Group.
It's for anyone who wants to engage with their creative self.
On the first Wednesday of every month, she posts a prompt in the Facebook group for members to explore / try / discuss. They can share their thoughts and responses to it and there's a little gift for Helen's favourite response each month (UK only).
Whether you're an individual taking part by yourself, a home educator looking for creative writing inspiration or a teacher / librarian with a creative writing club and you want ideas to use with your students, feel free. The purpose of the group is to encourage exploration of ideas, connection between members and enjoyment of both.

Helen loves to receive writing or artwork inspired by her books. Here are some examples.
Fell pony picture by Abbie Wilkins
Poem by Ashtyn Rylee, inspired by The Second Best Pony
That horse won.
We all knew he would;
The £18,000 imported horse
Who dominated the course.
My tiny Fell pony came in second,
But she’s better I reckon.
No, she’s not as tall,
But she can still do it all.
You see, my little Fell pony,
She jumped everything and nothing felt funny.
She was the star,
Flying faster than a car.
She flew higher than a hawk,
And that time she clocked -
I’m proud of my pony,
Way better than any phony.
So, my Fell came in second
To your expensive Christmas present.
But my Fell pony is first,
In heart, skill, and effort, she means the most.
That horse won.
